The Perch (Brentwood, TN)

July 23, 2010

After hearing so much about The Perch, I thought it was time to check it out for myself. It’s a creperie and coffee house in Brentwood, located at 117A Franklin Road. I was skeptical because I thought a crepe would not fill me up for lunch and I’d have to stop elsewhere afterwards. Boy was I wrong.

The Perch Smoked Ham and Muenster Cheese

So, how’s it taste?

First up was a savory crepe. I chose the Smoked Ham and Muenster Cheese. It was packed with ham, cheese, and dijon mustard. An additional drizzle on the top and I was ready to dig in. I feared the crepe would be too eggy and mask the other ingredients, but I was pleasantly surprised how well the crepe actually brought out the other flavors. The mild melted cheese, flavorful ham, and spicy dijon were so good! It was better than a sandwich with bread. The crepe made it taste so much lighter, but it was definitely filling. I washed it down with an iced Best Chocolate Bar EVER. Espresso with chocolate, caramel, and toffee nut. It seriously was the best ever.

The Perch Nutella with Strawberries

I couldn’t pass up tasting a sweet crepe, so my friends and I decided to split one. We were all stuffed, but I managed to eat the Nutella with strawberries. Call it a gift. The warm crepe was bursting with globs of Nutella. Slices of strawberries added such a nice texture to the smooth chocolate. It was pure heaven. The Perch is a great choice for lunch or stop by just to have the iced coffee and dessert!
