New Feature: Recipe Box, Shopping List, and Meal Planner

March 12, 2014

Update: As of December 10, 2014, Ziplist is discontinuing their service and these features will no longer be available on So, How’s It Taste.

I’m very excited to share with you a new feature on So, How’s It Taste that I know you’re going to love! I’ve partnered with ZipList to bring you a recipe box, shopping list, and meal planner all in one! In the menu above, you’ll find the new Recipe Box.

New Feature!

This feature lets you save recipes from this blog, and pretty much anywhere on the web, to your own recipe box. Select Recipe Box and you’ll see all the recipes you’ve saved so far. You can easily organize them in list or tile view, and sort them alphabetically or by recently added. When you’re ready to buy the ingredients for any of your saved recipes, you can move the ingredients into your Shopping List. It’ll prompt you for items it thinks you may have already (like flour, sugar, etc).

New Feature!

Now in the recipe area on my blog, you’ll find a Save button. It’s under the recipe image and next to the print button. Select the Save button and the recipe will automatically be added to your Recipe Box!

New Feature!

The feature that I use the most is the Shopping List. Several months ago I transitioned from using a notepad for my shopping list to an online version that I could access from my smartphone. While this was a big improvement over having to keep up with a piece of paper, it still wasn’t organized. ZipList offers a shopping list that has made my life so much easier! It organizes your list into categories, which makes shopping a cinch as you go through the different areas of the grocery store. You can filter this list and have more than one list, too.

New Feature!

ZipList has Android and iPhone apps, so you always have your lists and recipes with you. Mark the items off the list as you shop. Select checkout when you’re done and your list is emptied, ready for the next grocery trip!

ZipList also has a Meal Planner. This comes in handy when you want to schedule recipes you’ve saved for a certain day or just have them ready in your meal queue. *Update – As of July 2014, Ziplist is discontinuing the Meal Planner feature in an effort to focus on their more popular features.

New Feature!

You can share recipe boxes and lists with other ZipList users, find grocery deals, and use the recipe clipper to make managing your recipes, shopping, and meal planning a breeze. They have a gazillion other cool features for you to discover as well. If you’re not a member of ZipList, it takes no time to sign up and it’s FREE! I hope you enjoy this new feature of So, How’s It Taste and here are some awesome recipes to get you started filling up your recipe box!

I am addicted to ZipList. I gave my mom a tutorial on it a few weekends ago. I can’t believe it took me so long to use it. So cool!
